Once again, we here at Retranchement, near Sluis, the City of West to finish the year and begin another. Beyond the geographic permanence, there is the permanent human ... far more important.

Belgium is beating all records (Belgium) in the absence of government. The elections were held June 13 and since then ... NOTHING! Finally yes: for talking, intimidation, claims, downdrafts, indigestion, statements ... in short, animation, there was. But government, no. Does it change anything? Belgium continues to live his merry way. Of course, this is the crisis. Like everywhere. And when I look around me, I do not really see the crisis! There are also snow. She can not not see it. I think it much more concerned with the Belgians that the crisis ... or the lack of government.

Belgium will also hold another record: she became the first state to have chaired the European Union for six months without a government! Nobody is also really noticed. I said: all European countries are obviously realized that it was Belgium who chaired the Union - with some success, admittedly - but nobody (or few people) has realized that success does were due to a government "business as usual" (ie non-government).

Do not make me say what I write not: I am convinced that Belgium needs - as quickly as possible - a government that will take the decisions necessary to continue its prosperity (Government of Canada or Belgium?). Long ago - in 1981 - I was a teacher. A trade great. For me, the goal was obviously to promote the learning of academic subjects in each of my students. But it was also to spread a little life. For that, singing was the preferred method, but it was equally important to talk about everyone's life, the respect, give him a unique place.

One day my manager came to tell me that I have a new student. Only problem: it does not speak a word of French. Just English and English. Though I have never been good at languages, it started much!

Juana arrived in the classroom. She was immediately welcomed by all. She did not speak French, but his smile spoke for her. It gave off a quiet strength extraordinary. Luckily, there was in the class Chiara. She spoke English and was very quickly transformed into a performer.

Gradually, Juana learned French. Very quickly indeed. And very well. Having spent two years with this class, Juana was ultimately among students who had mastered the French better. Returned from his native Argentina, she was also his profession: expert translator French-English!

Since then much water has flowed along the banks of the Seine or the Río de la Plata. For many people, a tool like Facebook has beautiful reunion, mostly virtual. Juana found my path, like many other former students elsewhere.

Fate that Juana has won a scholarship to Paris to perfect. She ended up coming to a jump in Belgium. And that's where it becomes very special. Juana might wish to review a lot of friend (s) of the time and she wished. But she also wanted to see "Mr. Gerard"! We

reviewed on a beautiful evening with Ann and with the connivance of Sophie and Vanessa. This was one of those blessed moments, but deep down, most were not there. Nearly 30 years after simply doing my job as a teacher, I felt how much it has a magical touch. It is used to generate lights, shining stars, beyond time and space.
